Originally two cottages, Broome Cottage is a well proportioned and stylishly presented detached family house and is tucked away at the end of a small lane, just off the High Street within this popular village. On entering the cottage, the entrance hall leads into the main hallway off which are the principal reception rooms. The sitting room is sizeable with an excellent range of shelving and cupboards, built around a fireplace with woodburning stove. The study and conservatory lead off the sitting room, both having lovely views over the front garden and field beyond. In addition there is a further small study area and wet-room downstairs, plus the dining room and the kitchen which features an Aga set within a brick recess. A utility room with door to outside completes the ground floor accommodation. On the first floor, the master bedroom enjoys views to the front and has a well appointed en suite bathroom. There are three further bedrooms all served by the family bathroom with roll-top bath. Broome Cottage exudes natural light, which is enhanced by the neutral decorative palette.
The rural village of East Ilsley is in The Down's School catchment area and has two public houses, two churches and a primary school. Junction 13 of the M4 is approximately 4 ½ miles away and mainline stations at Didcot and Newbury provide regular rail links to Paddington within the hour.
The cottage is approached via a small lane, with a gravelled area to the front and parking for several cars. To the front of the detached garage there is hard-standing and good storage within and over. The main lawned area is to the front of the property and is flanked by a mature hedge which offers privacy. The aspect to the front is open in order to enjoy the view over the adjoining field.
