Polruan is a charming old fishing village located on the Fowey Estuary on the South Coast of Cornwall. The village has traditional Cornish narrow lanes, which adds to its quaint appeal. The village has a general store, post office, café, doctor's surgery, two well patronized public houses and a further array of small local retail shops. Across the river is the ancient town of Fowey with more restaurants and shops, which can be easily accessed via the foot ferry that leaves from Polruan Quay every 10-15 minutes. The Fowey Estuary is well known for its safe anchorage and excellent sailing facilities and is always busy with river and sea-going vessels alike.
