EQUESTRIAN - Occupying a slightly elevated position on the edge of the thriving, quaint village of Robertsbridge and commanding far reaching, unspoilt views, Old Peans is a handsome country residence of character set amidst just under approximately seven and a half acres of gardens and paddocks. With attractive external elevations of brick and part coloured render and tile hanging, the present owners have carried out a programme of restoration and refurbishment to the majority of the property, resulting in a spacious family home which is presented with style. The large Scandinavian wooden framed, double glazed windows afford marvellous views of the landscaped gardens to the views beyond with those in the Drawing Room including three sets of floor to ceiling doors which open out on to the south facing terrace. There are oak floors throughout the reception areas with very attractive oak parquet in the Drawing Room, where there is also a stone fireplace and fitted book shelves. The Dining Room has a dual aspect and a fireplace whilst the Study is comprehensively furnished with fitted shelves and cupboards. In order to create an efficient work space within a stylish family environment, the design services of renowned kitchen designers from Rye – Robert Patch – were employed resulting in a most impressive and imaginatively thought out Kitchen Breakfast Room. Oak cabinetry includes a curved central island unit and a superb larder. There are solid granite work surfaces with appliances including a Miele Oven and induction hob, a four oven gas Aga and American style refrigeration. Doors lead from here to the Rear Hall, Utility Room and second staircase and also to the Conservatory, which in turn has double doors to the Sitting Room. The Conservatory was originally installed by Amdega but is now in need of repair and the present owners have gained planning permission to replace this with a two storey extension – see Agents Note.
Bedrooms are arranged over the first floor and include a fine Master Suite which has the benefit of a private terrace overlooking the gardens, a Dressing Room and En-Suite Bathroom with separate shower and a roll top bath. There are four further bedrooms and two bathrooms. The second floor is accessed via a fixed staircase and is arranged as two rooms with potential, subject to the usual necessary permissions and eaves storage.
This property is featured by our Equestrian department.
