Pendennis Point to Rosemullion Head is a stunning stretch of coastline wrapping around Falmouth Bay. The small sandy cove of Maenporth lies approximately two miles south of the colourful and cosmopolitan harbour town of Falmouth, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and not far from the mouth of the wonderful Helford River immortalised by Daphne Du Maurier in her novel Frenchman's Creek.

    The sailing waters of Falmouth Bay, the Carrick Roads and the Helford River are considered to be among the very best in the country. There are excellent yachting facilities close at hand including deep-water moorings at Helford, yacht marinas in Falmouth and at the historic Royal Cornwall Yacht Club. For the sports enthusiast there are two golf courses within three miles at Falmouth and Budock Vean. In addition to fishing, other water sports, including wind surfing and water skiing, are available at nearby Helford Passage. The surrounding area also provides some beautiful coastal country and creek side walks. The rock pools on Maenporth Beach are a children's paradise and there is even a shipwreck in the cove. At nearby Swanpool beach on the south side of Falmouth there are water sports facilities and an excellent seafood restaurant.

    There is the award-winning Cove restaurant and a beach café at Maenporth, whilst the nearby village of Mawnan Smith offers a range of shops, Italian restaurant, hairdressers', post office, doctors' surgery and thatched public house clustered around a village square. The Cathedral City of Truro offers an excellent range of shops and private/state schooling together with mainline railway links to London Paddington. There is also a branch line service to stations at Falmouth. Newquay Airport offers daily flights to London and many other UK and European destinations.
