During the selling process your conveyancer will:

  • Review your Home Information Pack (HIP) and ask you to fill in a detailed questionnaire about your house and what you are including in the sale.
  • Prepare and send out a package of legal information and a contract for sale.
  • Answer questions received and arrange for you to sign the contract for sale.
  • Request a settlement figure for your mortgage and any other secured loans.
  • Liaise with all the relevant parties and negotiate a date for moving ("completion").
  • Receive the deposit as a down payment on exchange of contracts.
  • Organise final accounts and prepare a final statement for your approval, collecting any balance of funds required.
  • Approve the Deed of Transfer and arrange for you sign it.
  • Pay off any mortgages registered against the property.
  • Hand over the deeds to the buyer's lawyer and send any balance of money to you.
